This week’s featured NFT is full of nostalgia while showcasing the impact Hip Hop has had in music history. Easy-E, Biggie, and Lil Wayne are among the 47 Hip Hop legends being immortalized in NFT form on the NEAR Protocol blockchain. The auction, which began June 19 + ends July 26th, not only celebrates Juneteenth but also the entire 47-year timeline of Hip Hop history. Brought to life through the lens of acclaimed illustrator Andre LeRoy Davis, the animated art pieces are filled with soul and evoke a strong sense of nostalgia for Hip Hop fans.
From nft.hiphop: “A new edition of each Hip Hop Head will be released each day for the 36 days the auction is live. Each edition represents a year in hip-hop history.” The #1 of each series is being donated to reside in and establish the Universal Hip Hop Museum’s original crypto art collection. The rest are being auctioned off, with royalties going to support the featured artists or their estate in various ways, from receiving a split of secondary sales + getting some NFTs themselves.
